Hamlet of the Sierra Sur of Jaén, old property of the Order of Calatrava after the 1240 reconquest. Known for its thermal springs and traditional olive oil production.

- Order of Calatrava
- Cistercian military religious order founded in 1158 by Saint Raymond of Fitero in Calatrava la Vieja (Ciudad Real) for the defence of the Christian frontier against al-Andalus. After the reconquest of the Guadalquivir valley (1212-1248), it received territorial commanderies in the Sierra Sur of Jaén (Martos, Alcaudete, Porcuna, Frailes). Its territorial patrimony came to comprise 360,000 hectares in the 15th century.
